Fourth-Year Med Student Essay Contest

Enter the Doc2Doc Lending fourth-year medical student essay contest to win up to $1,000!

Doc2Doc is sponsoring a contest to encourage fourth year medical students to write scholarly essays relevant to the future of their medicine specialty.

A total of $2,000 in funds is available for winners:

  • Grand Prize: $1,000 to one (1) MS4
  • Secondary Prizes: $500 each to two (2) MS4s.

All medical students participating in 2022 residency matching programs are eligible to enter. Application and review process are included below for your review.

Application Process: 

The application period is open from December 16th, 2021 – March 18, 2022. Apply through the online portal on this page

To complete the online application process, please a PDF copy of your completed essay. 

Essay Requirements:

  1. Only one entry may be submitted per applicant.
  2. The essay may be on any subject related to the future of medicine in the United States. The subject of the essay may have national, state, or local relevance. Examples of topic areas include, but are not limited to:
    1. development of the technology related to your intended medical field 
    2. the contributions of a particular individual to your medical specialty
    3. a medical or medical-political controversy within the medical community
    4. the impact of social or political change on the specialty problem.
  3. The essay should be written in American Medical Association (AMA) style of format. It should not exceed 1 page and must be double-spaced with a 12-point font with minimum 1-inch margins, exclusive of reference listing.
  4. All entries must be written in English

Submission Deadline

Applications and all application materials for the Doc2Doc fourth year medical student contest must be received by March 18, 2022 (CDT). It is the sole responsibility of the applicant to ensure that we receive all materials by the deadline.

Review Process

All completed applications and supporting materials will then be reviewed by the Doc2Doc Essay Selection Subcommittee.
